Desert Storm
400 years before Christ was born, and well over a thousand years before Mohammed was born, an allied army of free men from western democracies invaded Iraq. The tyrant along the Tigris was cruel, powerful, and immensely wealthy. His subject armies outnumbered theirs literally a hundred to one. Yet the moment the westerners charged, his armies threw down their weapons and ran. The free men had no problem winning battles. Their problem was how to get themselves out of there.
This was the first Desert Storm.
It was not about religion. It was not about terror. It was a clash of cultures. Tyranny versus Democracy, subjects versus free men. One side couldn't stand to see people decide for themselves; the other side was in it, frankly, for the money.
Desert Storm is the first half of the Anabasis, written by Xenophon the Athenian 400 years before Christ. Translated into plain English. From this to this: this.
